Team NorCal is the oldest and most successful lacrosse development program in the San Francisco Bay Area. In 2025, we'll be celebrating our 16th year of sponsoring teams across various age groups, including Youth, Middle School, and High School Boys and Girls teams. We represent Northern California in local, regional, and national lacrosse tournaments year-round across the country, and won championships in such well-known events as IWLCA tournaments, the Vail Shootout, the Maryland Summer Sizzle, the Santa Barbara Showdown, Pacific Lacrosse Festival, GoldRush, and Sandstorm. A large majority of the USA Lacrosse named HS All-Americans and Academic All-Americans over the last decade in Northern California are Team NorCal players and alumni. Our players have played for some of the best D1, D2, D3, and MCLA and WCLA college programs around the country.
Team NorCal Lacrosse is a year-round competitive program that helps build great lacrosse players and even better student-athletes. We have a philosophy that is unique in today’s youth sports and travel team climate. We pride ourselves on teaching the whole-child, helping each player grow and improve on and off the field. All our Directors and most of our Head Coaches are Educators by profession and therefore have the skillset and experience to support our players' development and goals; you will find it obvious that our coaches really care about each player's well-being and success, both as a lacrosse player, a student, and a person.
We select our travel teams based on competitive tryouts every year. Our players are from throughout the Bay area – from San Francisco to Monterey, from Sacramento to Napa.
Over 4,000 travel team players have passed through our program since 2008, when we were the first travel team to sponsor a year-round travel program for kids from youth to high school in Northern California.
This year, we have over 90 young men and women playing in college at D1, D2, D3, and MCLA Lacrosse programs at over 50 different colleges. Several of them are now captains of their college teams. Other TNC alumni can say that they played an important role on a team that won an NCAA Lacrosse Championship – at D1, D2, D3 or MCLA levels. In fact, in 2015, Team NorCal alums played on the NCAA Lacrosse Championship teams Denver (D1) Limestone (D2), Tufts (D3) and Onondaga (JuCo). In 2023, 2024, and 2025, we had multiple alumni play in the MCLA and WCLA National Championship tournaments.
We are most proud of what great people they have become. There are very few professional opportunities in the sport of lacrosse. There is, though, a world of rewards for those who challenge themselves and their teammates to excel at this sport. Lifelong friendships, learning how to work effectively in teams, the importance of hard work and sacrifice in pursuit of goals, and knowing how to win with class and lose with grace are valuable life lessons we teach through our program. We offer mentoring to our players who are interested in becoming coaches and giving back to the lacrosse community. The skills our players learn through our Travel Teams program are vital skills that will help them to succeed in college and beyond.
Our coaches are among the most accomplished college, high school, club, and youth coaches in California. We practice on the best lacrosse fields in the Palo Alto area. And most importantly, we care about every player, as a person as well as an athlete.
